All new Mindful Mothering Class beginning in February!
We know your first year with your baby can be both wonderful and extremely challenging! You may feel tired, overwhelmed, and confused – that’s why we’re here!
So much more than just a “Mommy and Me” class, our Mindful Mothering gatherings are part education, part mentoring and support, and part social time, all in a beautiful environment for a little self indulgence. We created Mindful Mothering classes for thinking moms who are looking for relevant information and opportunity for friendship.
We support the transition of becoming a Mother and beyond!
Mindful Mothering is not just a “baby group”, or a class where mom’s will be told how to parent, but rather a place to gather the information and tools you need to determine what fits best for you and your child and supports you as a woman along the way.
We feel that there is not one “right way” to parent.
After all, what works for you might not work for another mother and what might work one week, might not work the next. We’ve been there! At Mindful Mothering, we offer you strategies and resources for your parenting tool box that will help you to find confidence in your parenting skills and choices.
We are here to support you in creating your own parenting style.
Mindful Mothering classes meet two times a month on Wednesdays for an hour and a half (90 minutes). Each class includes a specific topic led by Dr. Stephanie and Dr. Elissa or a guest speaker relevant to that weeks topic. Also included is an open-forum discussion and time for Q&A as well as inspiration and resources for you and your baby. And of course, delicious snacks…who said chocolate isn’t for breakfast! We will cover relevant topics such as:
- Self care for new moms – Getting enough sleep, exercise and nourishment
- Fever: Friend or Foe
- First Foods and Teething
- Natural health care for your baby
- Bonding rituals to enjoy with your baby
- Raising your baby in an eco friendly home
- Have baby will travel: the importance of staying social
- Baby wearing and co-sleeping.
